I have always been fascinated by psychology and the way we think and use our minds. That fascination has helped me to deal with many challenging situations in the many years I have worked in people management, both when dealing with my own thoughts and feelings and those of others.

It was through studying NLP and hypnotherapy for my own personal growth that I realised how much I enjoyed helping other people using those techniques. Which led to further training, lots more studying and a new chapter in my life and the creation of Southbourne Hypnotherapy.

I feel it is vitally important to listen, to really listen to what you are saying, to put you at your ease and allow you to feel respected and valued as an individual.
This belief is central to all my therapy work and is crucial in helping you make the changes you want to make.

Hypnotherapy is using the state of hypnosis to treat the presenting problem, hypnosis is a different state of consciousness which you can naturally enter so that, for therapeutic purposes (hypnotherapy), beneficial corrections may be given directly to your unconscious mind.

It is estimated that 85% of people will respond at some level to clinical hypnotherapy. It may even succeed where other more conventional methods of treatment have not produced the desired result. When carried out by a trained and qualified hypnotherapist the benefits can be long lasting and often permanent. It is natural and safe, with no harmful side effects.

Neuro-linguistic programming (NLP) is defined in the Oxford English dictionary as "a model of interpersonal communication chiefly concerned with the relationship between successful patterns of behaviour and the subjective experiences (esp. patterns of thought) underlying them" and "a system of alternative therapy based on this which seeks to educate people in self-awareness and effective communication, and to change their patterns of mental and emotional behaviour.

In simpler terms, NLP can help you understand what makes you tick, how you react to life,how you think and feel and how you make sense of the world.

Neuro Affective Desensitisation Technique is a method that is a fusion of a number of principles from various schools of change technology. In essence NADT combines principles derived from NLP, meridian therapy and hypnotherapy.
